A Joyous Day!

What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see. When I look upon His face, the one who saved me by His grace. When He takes me by the hand and leads me to the promised land. What a day, glorious day, that will be! Though we know it's coming, still we sometimes dread our last day on earth. But why should we? Probably, we all fear the unknown. But students of the Bible know what is coming, so we are not as afraid for that reason. Maybe a secondary reason we fear death is we are afraid we will have let the Lord down in our actions while we lived on earth. Though the Lord knows everything we do before we do it, so nothing catches Him by surprise, sometimes we surprise and disappoint ourselves

Add An Engaging Title

When I open this program to write the blog, it says, "Add an Engaging Title". If you could change your moniker or perhaps change people's opinion of you; what would you name yourself? Would you add adjectives to your name to enhance the way people view you? Maybe you would like to go the other direction and become less known than you are now. Whether or not we would change our title, we must be what we are. And what are we? First, if you know Jesus in salvation, you are His child. You wear the name "Christian". Because our family lineage goes back thousands of years, we are very well known. Many people like us and some people do not. But be assured, whether on not people like us, they are wa

Large Hadron Collider

Several years ago scientists happily fired up the Large Hadron Collider. It was reminiscent of the 1940's when the first atomic bomb was tested. At that time, the physicists weren't sure the "bomb" wouldn't start an unstoppable chain reaction that would destroy the world. Fortunately for all of us, the chain reaction was limited to only the area where the bomb was dropped. With the Large Hadron Collider, physicists thought the colliding of two atoms might create a "black hole" which would not only suck the whole earth into its vacuum, but might suck in the whole universe. Again, fortunately, their fears were allayed when no universe destroying black holes were created. But the physicists wer

Payment Problem

Once I logged on to a website and a pop up said, "Payment Problem", you need to update your payment method. I wonder how many people think they don't have a payment problem but they have a serious one. Those who have trusted in the salvation of Jesus Christ do not have a payment problem for their sins committed in this life. But those who continue to procrastinate or never get around to tending to the problem of sin, will one day find that they have a very serious payment problem. Jesus died for all who will come to him in faith. It doesn't matter who you are or what you have done before today, you can still trust in Jesus to forgive your sins and he will do it. But if you have never given y

How Placid is Your Life?

There is nothing more placid than a peaceful body of water on a virtually windless morning before the sun raises the wind to a level that will disturb the surface. Most of us love the peaceful feeling you experience at a time and place like that. Have you thought about the peace of heaven? I can't help but wonder at the mixture of excitement and peace we will experience. Excitement at meeting the Lord face to face, but a perfect tranquility in our rest from the lives we have wrestled with on this sinful earth. I feel sure there will be a time of adjustment when we first arrive at that wonderful place, but then I am confident that very soon we will recognize heaven as being the home we have
