Large Hadron Collider
Several years ago scientists happily fired up the Large Hadron Collider. It was reminiscent of the 1940's when the first atomic bomb was tested. At that time, the physicists weren't sure the "bomb" wouldn't start an unstoppable chain reaction that would destroy the world. Fortunately for all of us, the chain reaction was limited to only the area where the bomb was dropped. With the Large Hadron Collider, physicists thought the colliding of two atoms might create a "black hole" which would not only suck the whole earth into its vacuum, but might suck in the whole universe. Again, fortunately, their fears were allayed when no universe destroying black holes were created. But the physicists were willing to chance destroying the universe to satisfy their quest to know more about the origin of the universe. Christians, they could just have asked us; couldn't they?
How many people do you know who are willing to risk their universe on rolling the dice of life. I mean, by taking their chances with their eternal futures, they risk a timeless eternity in torment needlessly. How many people would refuse a free meal when they are hungry, if it was paid for already? Yet though Christ paid for their sin debt, they still refuse the gift of eternal life, and accept the eternal consequences by doing so. If you are reading this and you haven't trusted Christ for your eternal salvation, you should consider the possibility of something cutting your life short before you settle the question of your eternal destiny. Don't put off salvation too long. Don't roll the dice of life. Trust Jesus today.
Romans 10:9-10 says, "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Listen, just ask Jesus to save you from the penalty of unbelief. Ask Him to forgive you sins as you now turn away from those sins, and ask Him to come into your heart right now and save you. He wants to do this for you and He is speaking to you as you read this. Come and be baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit and you will be forever safe from the ungodly place called hell which was created for the devil and his angels- not for you!
