Is There a Need for Darkness?

For those who plan to do someone else a disfavor, the answer is likely yes, but for those who so not wish to hide their actions, the opposite may be true. Jesus said, "12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life," (John 8:12).

Many people don't want their deeds to have the light shown on them. It is a pity that people can't live in the light of Jesus, but instead, they must hide their deeds behind the cover of secrecy or darkness. It was never a wish of our Lord that we should live in such a way so-as not to be seen of men.

I am so glad that there is a day coming when every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord. Then in that day, every deed shall be brought to light whether it be good or evil and men shall be rewarded for their deeds while they were on the earth.

In the meantime, while we are here on earth, just know that children of light will always be fighting the forces of darkness. Don't be surprised when men do not follow the "Golden Rule" while here. Matthew 7:12 tells us "12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."

When you have been mistreated, just remember the attitude of Jesus. "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." As God forgives us, let us in return, forgive others who sin against us.
