Are You Worried?

I think you would be different from the average person if you aren't worried about anything at all. Worrying, however, merely causes you to take your eyes off what is important so that you may tend to something that may not turn out to be important at all.

In fact, about 80 percent of the things we worry about are things we cannot control anyway, so why are we worried about them? Another 10 percent are probably things that don't really matter in the scheme of things anyway, so actually, there is no need to worry over those either.

Then the final 10 percent are things we actually can control, so if we will just get busy and take care of the problem we won't have to worry about it any longer.

I think procrastination is one of the main reasons we worry. We think, "I have plenty of time to take care of it." Well, we all know how that turns out. So we worry, and worry some more over mostly things we shouldn't.

Finally, if we would just trust God with all of these things, if we would believe Him and take His promises as fact, we could truly rest. Let's try that for a while and see how it works out. What do you say?
