Today is My Birthday!

So what!! Well, actually, our birthdays are a reminder that time is short for us to fulfill the mission God has sent us here to do!

I think most of us, even the most dedicated Christians, don't have "use before expiration" on our radar screen. Thus, we haven't prepared our "schedule" of Christian activities for the day. Which day? Well, Jesus said, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own," (Matt 6:34). So the answer is "each day!"

What should we do today? What would Jesus do? Again we go to the Scripture. Jesus said, " Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I have been doing, and they will do even greater than these because I am going to the Father," (John 14:12). Well since we are also going to the Father, we had better learn what Jesus was talking about.

The Bible says, "And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power. Then Jesus went around doing good....for God was with Him, (Acts 10:38). God has also anointed you and me with the Holy Spirit and with power.

In our hearts we know when we are doing good. Helping those who are in need. Cheering those who are sad. Lifting the spirits of those who are depressed. Giving a gift of love to those who don't feel loved. Just being there for those who have lost a loved one. Always being in a season of prayer.

There are a million things we could do to do good! Schedule one today! Just one at a time and you will find that your whole life was worth living when you expiration date arrives!
