Why Is IT?

Why is it that we try everything we can think of before we actually give our problem to the Lord who can solve all dilemmas?

Why do we have such confidence in ourselves that we discount the God of heaven who created all things? Do we not know that if we give it to God, we can finally rest from our worry?

Why is it that even though we "know" these things, and we believe them, we still struggle with retaining "ownership" of our troubles? Do we not understand that when we release the load to our Father, we no longer have to carry the load ourselves?

Can we now trust God? After many millennia of history, why is it that man still has trouble with trusting our Lord?

I think it all goes back to one event. In the Garden of Eden, the serpent said to Eve, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat of any tree in the Garden'?",(Gen 3:1).

Yes, that must be the beginning of this problem of trust. Satan, in the form of the serpent lied to Eve causing her to no longer trust God. Then Adam and Eve passed the mistrust of our Lord down through these generations all the way to you and me. How unfortunate for us!

But God made us another promise. He said, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct thy paths, (Prov. 3:5-6).

So there it is! Who will you trust today; yourself; your friends; your enemy; or your God?
