Down on the Farm....
The restaurant chain "Bob Evans" once had a logo which was, "down on the farm, we do it right or we just don't do it!" At my home growing up, it was said, "anything worth doing is worth doing right!" These two sentences convey a desire to see to it that whatever we do is done to the best of our ability. God said through Solomon in Ecclesiastes 9:10, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom."
God also told us we should seek His will and go about doing to others as we would have them do to us. What does that mean? It means more than that we are not to mistreat other people. We are also not to talk about others behind their backs or malign them in any way. Conversely, we are to treat others with respect and bless them as we are able.
You have heard it said, "if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you,” (Jesus; Matthew 17:20b). Can you actually move a mountain? Well, we should trust what Jesus says whether or not we understand it. No matter what our personal mountain is, it CAN be moved by Jesus who created all things. He is in control. Trust Him with it- even when your faith is small.
