Do You Trust Me?

That's a good question! I find myself thinking about it a lot. It's the question Jesus asks each of us each day. "Do you trust me?" We think we do. We say we do. In public, we even act like we do. But in the secret chamber of our hearts, we hold the answer to the question; for most of us, that answer would be, "sometimes".

Wait a minute! We gave Jesus our trust and our hearts; what more is there to trust? Let's think about it a minute. When you've already spent your whole budget for the month, but someone you barely know needs some help; do you trust Him? When your child is laying sick in the hospital and they are running tests, some of which might reveal a risk of death; do you trust Him? When your friend cheats you, or you get fired, seemingly without reason, from the job you've held for many years; do you trust Him then? In the dark of night, and your are lost in the city; do you trust Him?

"Trust the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding," The Bible says, "Whoever trust in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered." "And God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Jesus Christ."

Jesus said, "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell you possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also," (Luke 12:32-34).

We ought to depend more on the Lord, and lean less own what we know in our own understanding, then we will learn the peace that Jesus wants each of us to have in our hearts. God denies us no good thing. He loves us, yes- even me; even you more than we can know at this time. So, don't be afraid. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart today, even though you may be facing; well, only God knows what! But He will see you through this day, as well as, all the others.
