Get Help

At some point in life, all of us have had the rather humbling experience of having to ask for help. It could've been with something relatively minor like your third grade math homework, or it could have been for something pretty major like asking to move back in with your parents for a time because you couldn't make it on your own. Sometimes asking for help with things is effortless, and sometimes it requires us to swallow our pride, admit we've failed, and reach out to someone else. It can make us feel vulnerable, powerless, or frightened. Regardless, we all need a little help sometimes.

Today I want to encourage everyone who needs help in any way to simply ask for it. Specifically, I want to ask those among us who might suffer from addictions, hurts, habits, and hangups to get the help you need to be free from those chains. Nothing in this life is worth being enslaved. You can beat that addiction. We all want to see you healthy again.

I also want to ask all those who are having a hard time in life, who feel like they just can't take it anymore and suffer from depression, anxiety, trauma, and an overabundance of stress to get the help you need, too. There's no stigma to seeking counseling, and no one should think less of you because you went to therapy. We will all rejoice in seeing you healthy and vibrant once more.

It may be intimidating, it may be humbling, and it may be the most difficult thing you've ever done in your life. But getting help when you truly need it will also be one of the greatest things you can do for yourself. Love God. Love others. Love yourself enough to get help.
