Elders being comparable to to bishops are older men, since wisdom comes with age, are chosen to exercise spiritual oversight over the congregation of which they are members.
Elders and Deacons are prayerfully chosen to serve based on the qualities, examples, and processes ordained in the New Testament. [I Timothy, Titus]
Above all, they are to be both godly and willing to serve.
A board consisting of all church leaders meets to care for the financial, staffing, physical, and spiritual matters of the church.

As a tradition in our church, when one is chosen as an elder they have prayer and laying on of hands of all elders as they are being ordained as a new elder .
