Think Pure Thoughts!

It is said there is a cult in Chicago where the followers go to their "temple" where there is a room in which the followers are to "think pure thoughts." The room is said to have beautiful ornamentations and pictures- a place of peace and serenity. Well, I am not sure anyone this side of heaven can actually think thoughts that are totally free of any sin, but our God who is in heaven thinks nothing but pure thoughts; and one day I am certain, when we are with Him, we will do the same. Our Bibles tell us "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee; because he trusteth in Thee," (Is. 26:3 KJV).

So, when we trust in God, our minds are capable of being kept in perfect peace! That sounds good! Now, if only we really put that faith into practice.... but Satan wants to implant doubt and worry into our minds in order to cause us to be tormented on earth as we try to follow Jesus. With Satan's constant interference, is it possible not to worry? Frankly, I'm not sure. I have gone through seasons of peace and seasons of worry. It seems that one always follows the other.

How long will this merry-go-round last? Until the day we are with Christ in peace. While we live here on earth apart physically from our Lord, we will continue to have victories and defeats, spiritually speaking, but never doubt that our Lord is watching and He is in control, even when we look around and don't see Him.

May we be like Elisha who speaking of his servant, prayed, "Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see." Then the Lord opened the servants eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha,"(2 Kings 6:17).

Whether or not we realize it, God's angels are all around us even at this minute! So why not stop worrying and rest in Jesus right now?

He is our Savior who loves us and will protect us until the day He calls us home to heaven!
