Mind Readers?

I think we are all glad no one can read our minds! We would likely be in a peck of trouble if they could! But there is one who can! He is our Lord. But our Father in heaven doesn't betray our thoughts like an earthling would do. Though we have loyalties to our family and friends here, occasionally our thoughts go astray. When it happens, we can easily forgive ourselves and get our minds back on the right track. But when others find out we have had an errant thought, they are usually not so quick to forgive us, though as afore mentioned, they have no trouble forgiving themselves.

Why is that?

Our Bible says not to judge other people. In fact in Matthew 7:1-3, "Judge not that you be not judged. For with what judgement you judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote in thy brother's eye but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" Even so, we still have a tendency to judge others motives as well as their actions.

Perhaps this is an area we should work on as Christians. Maybe we should not overlook our sins to see the sins of others. In fact, maybe we should take some time to "look over" our own sins instead of overlooking them.

Have you ever taken time to really consider your sin life? That seems to be a strange question! Though Jesus promised to "forgive us our sins" 1 John 1:9, we might do well if we actually called out our sins individually to our Lord for His forgiveness. Now; He is ready; are you?
