What Is Required to Please God?
Good question isn't it? Many people struggle through life wondering about it. But when we forget that God first loved us before we were ever conceived, it helps us understand that our Father wants us to please Him.
The Old Testament prophet Micah asked a tantalizing question; "With what shall I come before the Lord and bow down before the exalted God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of Rams, with ten thousand rivers of oil?Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sins of my soul? He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you?- To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God! (Micah 6:6-8, emphasis mine).
Jesus said, "You are my friends if you do my command." (John 15:14). In this verse we have a clue to pleasing God.
God doesn't expect you to become another Billy Graham or Charles Haddon Spurgeon. That is, unless it is in His plan for your life. But the Lord does expect you to honor His word, as well as, His Son Jesus Christ. If you do these simple things, you will please God.
