Are We Adequate?

When we embark on a new project we should consider whether we are adequate in several areas to complete the task. Do we have resources, manpower, financial ability, stamina, etc. to finish the job we set out to do?

In Christianity we should consider that our main resource is none of the above. Jesus is that resource and with Him at the helm, there isn't anything we can't do! "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," (Phil 4:13) isn't just a nice sounding phrase or slogan. It is a majestic declaration of our Master, Savior, and the Head of our church.

It is true that without Christ we can do nothing, but through Him we can do all things. We do not doubt this fact. We may not feel up to the task, but our God certainly is up to it.

I would like to thank you church for your affirmation of me as pastor last Sunday! It means everything to have your confidence. If you ask me, "Are you up to it?" I would have to say, "No." But I would follow by saying, BUT, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!"

One thing I believe- this decision is ordained of God. Yes, we took our ballots and checked our answer, but the whole thing is ordained of God. I believe that with all me being! God is with us! Never doubt it!
