Testimony Month

March 1, 2017

Today is the first day of March, and March is Testimony Month at RSCC. Throughout this month, our morning worship will feature the testimony of a church member and the opportunity for others to share as well. The idea came from our Outreach Team, and I think it's a great one.

One thing that's easy to lose is our story. We don't always keep in mind what God has done for us or where He's brought us from. It's very easy to take our lives and our blessings for granted, to believe we ourselves are solely responsible for our successes and our strengths. But sharing our testimonies puts an end to that. They are forceful reminders of what Paul says in 2 Corinthians 12:9: "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

And it's crucial not to get so wrapped up in our own lives we never hear how God is at work in the lives of others. By sharing testimonies, we will be better able to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. We can carry one another's burdens as brothers and sisters in Christ should, and we will better know how to pray for one another in the days ahead.

As we enter Testimony Month, think about your own testimony. How did God come through? How has He graciously poured out His love on you? How did you come to love Him, too? Once we catch up on your story, we can write the next chapter -- together.
